At Dorothy International’s recently concluded 2026 Spring Auction, the highly anticipated “Xuanli Elegant Appreciation — Lacquerware, Gilt-Bronze and Scholar’s Miscellaneous Works” special sale brought together an exceptional selection of imperial Buddhist sculptures, gilt-bronze works and refined scholar’s objects spanning different periods. The sale emerged as another major highlight of the spring auction, delivering a strong overall performance.
A total of 124 lots were offered, achieving a solid 58.87% sell-through rate and total sales of SGD 20,741,600.00, equivalent to approximately HKD 119,471,616.00.
Competitive bidding from collectors both in the saleroom and online drove strong interest throughout the sale. Several outstanding Ming and Qing gilt-bronze Buddhist sculptures, together with exceptional Warring States bronze objects, attracted repeated bids and intense competition, reflecting the continued confidence of leading collectors in the high-end market for gilt-bronze art and ancient Chinese bronzes.
